Introduction
Remote assessments involve the use of technologies to gather information, interview persons, and make observations in situations where onsite assessment methods are not possible or practical.
Advancements in communication and collaboration technologies have made some remote assessment activities more accessible; however, there are also limitations and risks associated with the use of remote assessments. Table 1 describes some of the opportunities and challenges associated with performing assessment activities remotely.
