Every time I updated Windows on my Surface Book for some reason the microphone stopped working. I couldn’t use Skype or even the voice recorder. After running thousands of diagnostics and even contacting Microsoft support, I wasn’t able to find the solution.
After driving myself crazy and trying a lot of things like updating the drivers, uninstalling and installing the microphone again… I decided to look into the microphone settings. And, I finally found a solution!
What did I do – Steps:
1.a – Right click on the speaker icon located on the task bar and select Sound:
1.b – Or new version:
2 – On the sound window select recording
3 – Select microphone array and click on properties
4 – On the properties window select levels and increase the volume.
5 – Click ok and test!
